Unfortunately, this section of the Coastal path, has to divert inland, beacuse of several Land Estates in this area. Barton manor, Norris Castle and Osbourne House.

Walkers have been campaining for years for right of access to this part of the coast.

However, the River Medena along the section we walked, is tidal, and is basically sea, so we have been including it as part of the coastal path trek.

As fot funnel size, have a look at this web page, you'll find picture of the Ryde Queen pre funnel loss.

As you'll see, it's neither to long or to short, or to thick or to thin.

I wish I could do some of these walks with you. You certainly sound like you have fun. How come though, if you are walking the coastal path, the described walk (according to map) does not seem to have any section of it on the coast?

I also think you are maturing, not just fairing better, with age Neil. And on the subject of funnels, did said steamer have a long thin one or a short fat one? I suspect a long thin one would have dropped off sooner. Does this say anything about you Neil?
